Telescopic grandstand – ASML Concert Hall, Art4U Veldhoven

For the renovated ASML Concert Hall in Veldhoven, we created custom-made telescopic seating, tailored to the client's specific requirements and the acoustic properties of the space. The dimensions and maximum capacity of 116 seats were carefully coordinated with the position of the acoustic wall panels and the side and rear wall baffles.

Compact seats – automatically ready when extended

The grandstand is equipped with 116 comfortable compact AP Wood theatre seats. These seats automatically move into the correct position when the grandstand is extended. When retracted, the seats automatically fold forward, while the armrests are positioned so that they slide past each other without any problems. This smart and robust low-tech system keeps staff involvement to a minimum.

Manual operation – efficient in use

The grandstand is opened and closed manually, but thanks to the smooth guidance system, this can be done easily by a maximum of two people. Within 10 minutes, the grandstand is ready for use by the audience or can be retracted completely so that the floor space of the hall is freely available.

This solution offers maximum flexibility for a multifunctional hall that regularly changes between seating arrangements and free floor configurations.

Sustainable choice of materials

The grandstand is finished with a high-quality project carpet made from recycled needle felt. This material is not only wear-resistant, but can also be reintroduced into the manufacturer's production chain at the end of its service life.

The seat upholstery also contributes to sustainability. We opted for CURA by Gabriel, a furniture fabric made from 100% recycled polyester with an excellent wear resistance of 100,000 Martindale cycles – ideal for intensive use in public spaces.
