A fixed stand as foundation for cultural renewal.

Centrally located in the municipality of Anzegem, a new theater recently arose as part of the broader project Gemeentepunt Anzegem - an ambitious reconversion of a former textile weaving mill into a modern, multifunctional government building. Our contribution to this project? The engineering, production and installation of a fixed grandstand with 260 comfortable theater seats, developed with attention to sightlines, acoustics, durability and ease of use.

Grandstand as architectural anchor

The theatre hall has a flat floor and no elevated stage. Performances take place at the same level as the audience, so a well-considered ascending seating solution is required. Our fixed grandstand rises at an optimised incline and features a carefully integrated seating layout and a solid steel structure. Each upholstered seat is fitted with wooden armrests — a deliberate choice that combines elegance with audience comfort. The result is clear sight lines from every row, regardless of the performance type.

Co-creation and Seamless Integration

The design of the grandstand was developed in close collaboration with the design team led by Wielfaert Architects, engineering firm Endes, and project coordinator Proveko. Throughout every phase, special attention was paid to integrating the grandstand within the overall space — from acoustic treatment and technical rigging above the performance area to smooth audience and artist circulation. The result is a grandstand that not only provides seating but also serves as a structural element supporting the entire theatre experience.
